About
The Ford Plant was acquired by local lawyer and businessman Sidney Torres in 2017. Deeply embedded in community, Torres foresaw a wonderful opportunity to develop a creative hub in a community that is establishing and fostering creative enterprises.
Torres has a vision for St. Bernard Parish. And that vision is to help create an economic engine in the parish at the intersection of art and commerce. Part of that goal is to transform this iconic 225,000 sq. ft. structure into a space where filmmakers, artists, entrepreneurs, and visionaries come together to create, inspire, and push the boundaries of art, technology, and culture.
This concept is rooted in Torres’ history of fostering creative industries in the region, including the development of one of the largest film studios in the South, The Ranch Film Studios. Torres also established the local sculpture garden and art gallery at Crevasse 22, cultivating spaces for local communities to engage with the arts, as well as adressing environmental justice and ecological preservation.
